From a childhood surrounded by dark evenings and unreliable power to founding Liberia's most trusted solar engineering firm — this is the story of a man who decided to light up his country.
Growing up in Liberia, Samuel Dennis Jr. experienced firsthand what it meant to live without reliable power. Evenings spent by candlelight, businesses forced to run costly generators, and communities cut off from the economic opportunities that electricity enables — these realities shaped him deeply.
Driven by that conviction, Samuel pursued formal engineering education with a singular purpose — to return home with the knowledge and skills to solve Liberia's energy crisis. He earned certifications in electrical engineering and solar PV systems installation, gaining hands-on experience across multiple projects before planting his roots back in Paynesville.
In the early days, Samuel worked out of a small office with limited equipment and a big dream. He took on every project with the same level of care — from rewiring a family home to designing a commercial solar array for a Monrovia business. Word spread quickly: Power Factor delivers, and they deliver right.
Alongside his Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Watchie CM Dennis, Samuel built Power Factor Engineering & Consultancy Inc. into a full-service energy company. Today, the firm employs field engineers, technical instructors, and support staff — all united by the same mission Samuel started with.
His approach has always been grounded in three uncompromising principles: quality materials, certified craftsmanship, and honest pricing. He believes that clean, reliable energy is not a luxury in Liberia — it is a right, and his company is committed to making it accessible.
Outside of engineering, Samuel is a mentor and educator. He actively trains young Liberian technicians through hands-on apprenticeship programs, ensuring that the next generation of energy professionals are equipped to continue the work. His belief is simple: the more engineers Liberia produces, the faster the nation develops.
Today, with over 100 completed installations, clients across Monrovia and Paynesville, and a team of dedicated professionals, Samuel Dennis Jr. and Power Factor Engineering continue to redefine what is possible for Liberia's energy landscape — one solar panel at a time.
The principles Samuel Dennis Jr. built Power Factor Engineering on — and lives by every day.
A Liberia where every home and business has access to clean, reliable, and affordable electricity — powered by locally trained engineers and world-class solar technology.
To empower Liberian communities with integrity-driven energy engineering — delivering quality solar and electrical solutions that truly work, with honest pricing and lasting support.
Integrity in every installation. Excellence in every connection. Commitment to the communities we serve, the engineers we train, and the future Liberia deserves.
Samuel actively mentors young Liberian technicians, believing that skills transfer is as important as project delivery. Power Factor is a training ground for the next generation.
Clean energy is not just a business — it's a commitment to the environment. Every solar panel installed is a reduction in Liberia's dependence on fossil fuel generators.
From small family homes in Paynesville to large commercial installations in Monrovia, every project is an investment in Liberia's economic empowerment and progress.
Key milestones in Samuel's journey from aspiring engineer to Liberia's leading energy entrepreneur.
Growing up in Liberia with limited electricity, Samuel resolved to study engineering to solve the power problems his family and community faced daily.
Samuel completed formal certifications in electrical engineering and solar PV system design, gaining the technical foundation to build professional-grade installations.
Before founding Power Factor, Samuel worked hands-on across residential and commercial electrical and solar projects, honing the practical skills that define the company's quality today.
Together with Co-Founder Watchie CM Dennis, Samuel established Power Factor Engineering & Consultancy Inc. in GSA Road Junction, Paynesville City — Liberia's premier energy solutions firm.
Power Factor grew from a small startup to a full-service firm offering solar PV, electrical wiring, HVAC, CCTV, and engineering consultancy — with a growing team of certified professionals.
With over 100 completed installations, a five-star client record, and ongoing mentorship programs, Samuel continues to lead Power Factor Engineering forward — and Liberia too.
"When I started Power Factor Engineering, I wasn't just starting a business. I was making a promise — to my community, to my country, and to myself — that I would use every skill I had to bring reliable, clean energy to the people of Liberia."
"I've seen what a single solar panel can do for a family. A child who can study after dark. A business owner who no longer spends half their income on fuel. A neighbourhood that no longer dreads the night. That is what drives us every single day."
"To our clients: thank you for trusting us with something as important as the power in your home. To our team: your dedication is the backbone of everything we achieve. And to Liberia: we are just getting started."
